Alice and Ambrose are enjoying a time outside the church. As they stare into the sky they are trying SO hard to imagine what it will be like to see Jesus at the second coming as He is prophesied in Revelation, to descend, as a mighty king to the earth from heaven.
Alice and Ambrose couldn't, therefore, resist choosing this carol below as it describes the Second Coming. Advent is, therefore, not just a time for us to anticipate the arrival of Jesus as a helpless baby, at Christmas time, but also to remember that we are STILL waiting for Him to come.........but this time as a powerful king and judge of all.
o!
he comes, with clouds descending, |
|
Every
eye shall now behold Him, Robed in dreadful majesty; Those who set at naught and sold Him, Pierced, and nailed Him to the tree, Deeply wailing, Shall the true Messiah see. |
|
Those
dear tokens of His Passion |
|
Now
redemption, long expected, |
|
Yea, amen; let all adore thee, |
